Boyd's Farm

Can I place a large order for an event? Yes! We're happy to work with you to provide Boyd's products for your event. To get started, email us at with the details of your event.

What about allergies? We recommend testing all skincare products on a small portion of skin first to test for allergies. For those with allergies to nuts, please note that we use sweet almond oil and argan nut oil in our products.

What are essential oils? Essential oils are extracted directly from plants, typically through steam distillation. This process allows for the transfer of benefits from the plant to the user. We have used essential oils in our home for years and have experienced the medicinal and emotional benefits first-hand. As with any product, you should be cautious of using essential oils if you are pregnant or plan to use them on small children.

Why organic? At Boyd’s Farm we believe that what goes on your body is as important as what goes in your body. We use only organic base oils for our products because we are not into putting chemicals and pesticides on our bodies and we don’t think you should be either. There are also huge environmental consequences to conventional farming, so we don't want to support those practices.

What do you mean “non-toxic”? We at Boyd’s Farm were shocked to learn that soap and cosmetic products are not regulated by the Food & Drug Administration, or any other regulator body, as strictly as we would like. This meant the products we washed with and put on our skin contained harmful, toxic, carcinogenic (cancer-causing) chemicals. I wish I could say we are exaggerating or over-reacting but we’re not. From this knowledge, we became determined to give ourselves and others better options. We happily provide you products with no toxic materials or preservatives. We believe in transparency so we show you ALL of our ingredients. The lists may look short and simple, that is intentional. We believe that skincare should be simple, subtle, and natural. For more, check out our post on this here.

What is Lye? Lye, also called sodium hydroxide, is what gives soap it’s cleansing affects. We use it in a cold-process method to saponify our base oils. To explain this we compare the lye/oil relationship to the way you emulsify ingredients when cooking. We ensure the chemical reaction is complete and allow the soap to cure for 5 weeks before shipping. This meticulous process makes the lye non-hazardous and safe to use on skin. We also don’t sell any product that we have not tested on ourselves first.

What if the product is sold out? We believe in the beauty of handmade creations and the honesty that comes with being a small business.  We make every single product by hand so you receive a high-quality product made in small batches by a person, not a machine. Because of this standard, there will be times when a product is sold out. We may make this recipe again or we may decide to produce another recipe we think you’ll enjoy even more. To get insights into what we're making and whether or not we're bringing back your favorite products, sign up for our newsletter.

Why do you produce in small batches? Small batches allow for us to create every product by hand and give them the attention they deserve. We do not use preservatives so our products do not last indefinitely. Making them in small batches enables us to make products without toxic chemicals so you can have natural, organic bath and body goods.

What is the best way to take care of soap bars? To make sure your soap bars last, allow them to dry between uses. Use soap dishes with holes or pegs underneath the soap so that air can reach all sides of the bar. We use soap dishes in the shower and on the sink to enable our bars to last as long as possible.

Exchanges/Returns: We love our products and hope you do, too. Due to the consumable nature of our products, however, we do not offer returns or exchanges.  If there is a problem with your order or shipping (e.g. you received the wrong item or there was a spill) please let us know at and we’ll be happy to address the problem.

Shipping: We currently do not ship outside the U.S. but look forward to doing so in the future.
